- Rhett is in a weird little kid/big kid phase. There are times when he seems to need extra attention and other times when I feel like he's a teenager who can fend for himself. (Well, maybe not quite but you get my point.) He likes toys but is starting to get bored with them. It seems like he doesn't really know where he stands sometimes. It's a little tricky. Especially when you're trying to figure out presents to give him.
- He really enjoys reading which is great to see. Lately, I've enjoyed getting to rediscover the Harry Potter series through his eyes. He's never been really interested in reading those books but this year it's finally clicked. It's good to see him stay committed to a series this long.
- He still has a thirst for knowledge which I think is a lot like Russ. He's always wanting to know facts about this and that and is truly interested. He has a lot of useless knowledge swimming around in that brain of his.
- Like his sister, he loves to travel. In his mind he doesn't do it barely enough. He likes flying and seeing new places. He is at such a great age for traveling too.
- Rhett's still a good student but I think will forever struggle with those subject that don't interest him. He does just what he has to and nothing more when it comes to math and writing but throw in a little science and social studies into the mix and he's right in his element.
- Rhett's not super athletic but enjoys soccer and baseball. He's just as content lounging around at home though too so I'm not sure we'll have a world class athlete on our hands.
- He's a home body who would stay in just his underwear all day long if he could. There have been times on a Saturday where I've finally made him get dressed at dinner time.
- He's still more of a serious kid and tends to be a little sensitive especially when someone is trying to joke with him. But on the other hand, he will die laughing from America's Funniest Home Videos to the point that he can't breathe. And when he's around his cousins? Forget it. He turns into this crazy, loud, goofy kid which seems so out of character sometimes. I love that he has that outlet.
- Being a big brother can be a struggle for him. Sure, deep down he loves his sister (even if he won't realize it for many years to come) but boy does he get annoyed with her. Sometimes he gets so mad when she's just talking to herself. He can hardly stand it. Of course she knows how to push his buttons so it doesn't help.
- Rhett is not the most compassionate person but he is surprisingly sweet sometimes and can be a really good role model to his younger friends.
- Oh and in case you were wondering, he still likes me to scratch his back every night. It will be a sad day when that ends.

Double Digit Dude
We have made it to the double digits. Has it really been 10 years since Rhett came into our lives? It's a little surreal to think about. I don't really feel old enough to have had kids for 10 years. I'm not really sure what to think about that. But enough about me. This list is all about our wonderful Rhett. Here's last year's list if you're interested.
