Happy 6th Birthday to My Easter Girl

Happy Birthday to my crazy Piper.  It just so happens this year her birthday falls on Easter.  I'm not sure how many times in her life this will happen but I'm too lazy to figure it out.  I'm guessing it's not many.  It's been fun (and an easy theme) for her birthday.  Only slightly stressful for me to plan a party and get things together for Easter.

Here's my annual Piper review.  Last year's looked a little something like this.

• This girl still talks more than the rest of the household put together.  It can be exhausting but mostly amusing.  At least to me and Russ.  Rhett wishes he had earplugs half the time.
• Along with talking a lot, she sings (very loudly) all the time.  Especially when she plays.  Sometimes she's so loud Rhett finally can't take it anymore and yells for her to be quiet.  Generally, she just ignores him and keeps on singing.
• She is full of passion.  Nothing is so so to her.  Either she's extremely happy or in utter despair. More often than not though she has the most optimistic outlook on life.  Her new thing is if you ask her if she had a good day or any other similar question she'll respond with, "It wasn't good it was fantastic."
• She is loving Kindergarten (especially being in the same class as her cousin and best friend) but she doesn't love the "work" part of it.  Just like her brother.  She'll matter of factly tell you she doesn't do very good on her spelling tests and you can tell by her attitude that she's perfectly fine with that.  
• Piper is one confident little girl.  She knows who she is and doesn't let a whole lot get to her.  She knows what she likes and doesn't.  She has no problem being the leader of the group.  I hope she keeps this attitude forever.  
• Along with her confidence, she has her own special style.  She loves dresses and skirts but not too foofy.  She wears cowboy boots and flip flops and hates wearing socks.  She always complains that I try to get her to match too much.  "You don't always have to match, Mom."  In the end she might look like a mess but for some reason it works.  
• She's a little hoarder.  She hates getting rid of anything.  I have to sneak clothes that are too small out of her room when she's not looking because she never wants to let them go.  We recently went through Rhett's toys and she even had a hard time with us giving those away.  Hopefully she grows out of this stage soon because I don't think we can pack any more into her room.
• After this winter, she's officially decided she doesn't like cold weather.  She's not one to play in the snow for hours like her brother.  She'll last five minutes then wants to go inside.  At one point this winter she protested by wearing her swimsuit around the house.  Needless to say, she can't wait for summer. 
• She's cautious about activities that seem "risky" in her mind.  She rides her bike (with training wheels) painfully slow so she doesn't fall and even though she loves the pool, she doesn't push herself to become a better swimmer.  I was always a cautious kid so I guess she gets it from me.

Piper still makes me smile on a daily basis.  I honestly can't imagine our family without her charisma, sass and goofiness.  We love this girl so much!
